On August 31, 2024, MM Steel Service Center Corporation officially commenced the operation of its first solar power generation system at its steel processing plant in Carmona, Cavite, in partnership with Advantech as the system vendor. The solar installation consists of 552 solar panels covering an area of 5,476 square meters on the plant’s roof, with a total capacity of 320 kilowatts peak (kWp). The inauguration was led by Mr. Sanada, President of Advantech, and Mr. Atsumu Yamaguchi, President and CEO of MM Steel, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy for the company.
